Early intervention in Manhattan
Big Minds, Tiny Hands provides early intervention to babies and toddlers from birth to age 3 across Manhattan.
Our providers come to your home, your child's daycare, or another everyday setting. For eligible children, services are at no cost to your family.
How to get started in Manhattan
Refer your child
Call 311 and ask for Early Intervention, use the city's online referral portal, or send us a referral. You do not need a doctor's referral.
An evaluation
Two or more professionals evaluate your child to see if they are eligible. Our evaluations take place in your home, and most are finished within a few weeks.
A plan and services
If your child is eligible, you and the team write an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Services begin once they are authorized.

Help with rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, balance, and strength, through play.
Speech therapy
Support for first words, understanding, feeding, and the early back-and-forth of communication.
Occupational therapy
Help with hand skills, play, self-care, and how your child takes in touch, sound, and movement.
Service coordination
A free service with one point of contact who helps your family get and coordinate early intervention services.
